Vinylize - Designed with the optician in mind!

Vinylize partnered with Essilor to show you the technical aspects of glazing (edging) prescription lenses into vinyl frames. The temples are cellulose acetate so they are hypoallergenic and can be adjusted. The base onto which the record is laminated is also acetate.

It is recommended to gently heat the entire frame front with warm air before pushing the demo lens out from the back. Either the demo lens or the rim can be used as the template for the new lens. Edge the lens as you would for a metal or horn frame. Avoid making it bigger than the original. Once both lenses are finished, gently reheat the entire frame front and insert the new lenses from the back. Inserting the lens from the front will risk damaging the surface.
